1. Tell us about your modality and how can it help people?
In the broader scope of my business, I am an Alchemist – I support the global transformation within individuals, to share, experience and connect with life at the depth they desire.
I create this impact via many avenues:
· As a University Lecturer, I mould the minds of teachers, social and youth workers of today.
· As the YOUTH Coach® Director, I shape the minds of professionals embarking & magnifying their knowledge, experience and capacity with individuals, families and schools.
· As a Clinician, and Business Owner, I am a Speech Pathologist, Mental Health Clinician, Autism & Behavioural Coach, Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Master Coach & Trainer of Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Time-Line Therapy®, NLP Coaching and Hypnotherapy & Mindfulness.
I support all members of the YOUTH Coach® team to support children, adolescents and young adults with social, emotional, language, learning and behavioural challenges. We work with the families and associated school environments to ease the energy of home, school and community environments, and create positive possibilities, and pathways for life.
Within my work as an Alchemist, I recognise that the major challenge in the human experience is within the MIND.
Allowing time to explore your reasoning, perception, and the purpose for your position in life creates significant shifts in your internal reality, subsequently shaping your external reality.
2. What led you to this modality – tell us a bit more about your journey
We all have a journey don’t we, and the events of that journey shape and mould our existence, don’t they?
Mine began with a traumatic birth, diagnosis of brain damage at that point, and subsequent stay in a humidy crib for 5 weeks. With very little touch, and in significant pain, it shaped the journey of my childhood, my perception of myself, and my capacity to view light beyond darkness. Upon this journey I have struggled with a diagnosis of Autism, sexual orientation and gender identity issues, and felt separated, fragmented and focussed on my differences, rather than what was possible in life.
This was until I began the road to empowerment, and step by step since the age of 17 I have created a more JOY-filled and LOVE-filled and connected experience for me, and all that surrounds me.
At the age of 17 I graduated and entered Speech Pathology, and simultaneously began coaching children and adolescents in swimming and surf lifesaving. I had found my gift in connection with children. My soul emanated love to them, and they taught me the gift of play and fun beyond the suffering I had chosen to hold onto unconsciously.
From that date, I completed any course I could find: Speech Pathology, Mental Health, Reiki, Pranic Healing, Emotional Intelligence Training, NLP, Clinical Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness, Shamanism (just to name a few J)
There is power within all of us to transform anything. My life is a testament to that. I work with individuals to surface that strength and wisdom from within, and work with the systems of influence (family, schools, and organisations) to support them on their journey.
3. Who has been your biggest inspiration and why?
For different reasons, both my Mum and my Dad.
My Mum was, and is, an emotional rock for so many. She is deeply empathic, yet so practical in her capacity to provide advice or direction to those in need. She is also a Life Coach, Hypnotherapist and awesome grandmother.
My Dad was, and is an amazing mirror to me. In 1946 he survived an early and traumatic birth, struggled at school, and yet became a National Swimming and Surf Lifesaving champion of Australia.
I love them both so dearly for providing me with the opportunity to learn so well in my life, as was required to be the person I am today.
4. Finally, in just one line, what is a piece of advice you live by.
We are all different, neuroscience indicates this specifically through MRI (brain scan technology). So, if this is the case, AREN’T WE ALL JUST THE SAME?
Thank you Scott! Keep shining brightly!
